Design Concentrations enable students to narrow their studies in a particular field or dimension of graphic design to acquire a particular skill set.

Advanced Portfolio Concentration
This concentration enables students to build a strong portfolio through challenging graphic design, typography, logo design, and packaging projects. Through critique and feedback, students work with Faculty to shape an individual body of work with a high standard of creativity and professionalism. learn more
  Corporate Identity Concentration
This concentration explores visual identity design applications with a focus on logo design, advertising, and corporate identity projects. The conceptual and creative challenge of logo design is addressed and translated to corporate identity and advertising media applications. learn more
     
Digital Illustration Concentration
This concentration explores basic illustration skills and their application to Adobe Illustrator projects. Students will study basic drawing and digital illustration techniques used to create graphics, icons, and illustrations, and explore advanced Illustrator features. learn more
  Digital Imaging Concentration (Graphic Design)
This concentration enables students to explore the professional applications of digital photography and digital imaging using Photoshop. Students explore professional approaches to digital imaging projects, including retouching and advanced photoshop techniques, and master the technical and aesthetic aspects of color correction and separation for print output. learn more
     
Digital Imaging Concentration (Web Design)
This concentration enables students to explore the professional applications of digital photography and digital imaging using Photoshop. Students explore professional approaches to Web digital imaging projects, including banner ad design and retouching, and tackle advanced Photoshop techniques. learn more
  Digital Photography Concentration
This concentration enables students to learn the technology of digital photography and explore its professional and art applications. Students explore the medium through hands-on projects, undertaking classic photography assignments, studying composition, and developing a portfolio for exhibition. learn more
     
Ecommerce Concentration
This concentration gives students a thorough understanding of marketing concepts and their applications in ecommerce and emarketing. Students learn the basic principles of marketing, study how to design develop ecommerce sites from a technical and visual design perspective, build basic dynamic or database-driven Web sites, and develop emarketing strategies for a small business. learn more
  Editorial Design Concentration
This concentration prepares students for the design challenges in desktop publishing and magazine/publication design. Students gain a basic proficiency in Adobe Indesign and the learn the principles of editorial design in magazines and periodicals. Students extend these skills with advanced classes in typography and layout design. learn more
     
Flash Concentration
This concentration enables students to build on basic Flash skills to create Web sites, animations, and applications with powerful functionality and design. Students learn how to develop Flash Web sites, animate characters and environments, and write basic applications using ActionScript. These concepts are integrated by addressing the broader challenge of experience design. learn more
  Graphic Design Concentration
This concentration gives students a firm grounding in the visual communication skills required for graphic design. Students study principles for creating effective compositions, color schemes, and typographic layouts and apply these principles in a series of classic graphic design projects. learn more
     
Info Design Usability Concentration
This concentration enables students to develop a proficiency in designing and developing navigation systems for Web sites and multimedia interfaces. Students study the history of interface design and learn techniques for creating blueprints for Web sites. Through hands-on projects, students learn how to implement the principles of effective usability, accessibility, and interactivity in site design. learn more
  Typography Concentration
This concentration enables students to build a deep understanding of typography and its creative applications in print and on the Web. Students study the evolution of digital typography and tackle advanced typography and layout projects. Finally, students study the application of typography on the Web. learn more
     
Visual Identity Concentration
This concentration explores visual identity design applications with a focus on logo design, packaging, and trademarking and protecting your designs. The conceptual and creative challenge of logo design is addressed and translated to packaging design. Students also learn the essentials of protecting the rights to their visual identity work under U.S. law. learn more
  Web Business Concentration
This concentration enables Business Marketing Design students to develop basic Web design, ecommerce, and emarketing skills. Students learn the principles of Web design and how to create pages using an HTML editor. These skills are applied to the challenge of designing ecommerce sites and developing an emarketing strategy. learn more
     
Web Coding Concentration
This concentration enables Web Design students to build build a solid foundation in Web standards and languages: X/HTML, CSS, Javascript, and DHTML. Through practical projects, students learn the correct coding and syntax for the majority Web applications, building a fundamental knowledge that is an important supplements to an HTML editor-based design process. learn more
  Web Design Concentration
This concentration enables students to build essential design skills for the Web. Students learn Web design principles and how to create pages using an HTML editor. Students then build the skills for larger site projects by studying information design and by tackling a series of industry-standard Web design projects. learn more
